GIC is excited to partner with New College of Florida on the first of two events planned for 2012. The keynote speech will be given by Dennis Lockhart, President, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
The 14th president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Dennis P. Lockhart is an expert in global banking and commerce. His speech will examine the economic challenges facing the United States in 2012, including sluggish growth, stubbornly high unemployment, and the European debt crisis. Mr. Lockhart will also look at how monetary policy affects, and is affected by those factors. Prior to joining the Bank in 2007, he was on the faculty of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. Previous to that, was managing partner at the private equity firm of Zephyr Management, and held various positions, domestic and international, at Citicorp/Citibank.

Dennis P. Lockhart
Former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of AtlantaDennis Lockhart’s career includes time in the private sector, government, and academia. In 2017, he stepped down from the position of president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, a position he held for ten years. In this role, Lockhart served on the Federal Reserve’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). His tenure spanned the financial crisis, the Great Recession, and several years of recovery.
