Global Citizen Award Presented to Fred Heldring Founder of the Global Interdependence Center
GIC is proud to acknowledge individuals who have embodied GIC’s mission through their lives’ work. We honor these individuals with the Global Citizen Award and the Frederick Heldring Global Leadership Award. The Global Citizen Award is awarded to Fred Heldring in honor of his lifelong commitment and strong advocacy for GIC’s efforts to pursue the globalization of our worldwide communities through increased knowledge, understanding and partnership.

Frederick Heldring
Frederick Heldring was born in Amsterdam, Holland in 1924. After graduating from high school during the German occupation of his country he joined the Underground in 1944.
