Alexander Kashturov began working in 1997 as a lawyer in a small-size stock brokerage firm in Moscow. In 1998 he joined the Bank of Russia and initially worked as a lawyer for currency relation and control department. Starting from 2001 Mr. Kasturov works with the risk management group of the market operations department that is responsible for the risk management of the portfolio of FX reserves. Currently the market operations department of the Bank of Russia implements the monetary policy operations of the Bank of Russia and manages the FX reserves.
