The Global Interdependence Center Presents Climate, Currency, and Central Banking at the University of the Bahamas

February 14, 2024 (Philadelphia, PA) –– U.S. nonprofit organization The Global Interdependence Center will welcome top minds from across the world to their upcoming Climate, Currency, and Central Banking conference in Nassau, Bahamas.
The public event begins with a full-day conference on Thursday, February 15.
Topics to be covered during the conference include:
- Enhancements and impediments to economic growth
- The banking ecosystem of the Caribbean (including the impact of U.S. governance on the region)
- Currency issues surrounding the Bahamian dollar, US dollar, and central bank digital currencies such as theBahamian Sand Dollar
- The impacts of climate change, hurricanes, and sea level rise through the lens of risk management
Christopher Waller, Ph.D., Governor of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, will deliver a keynote address titled “The International Role of the Dollar.” John Rolle, Governor of the Central Bank of the Bahamas, will give an exclusive presentation on the Sand Dollar currency. A slate of global experts representing the private sector, academia, governments, and banking will present throughout the conference:
