Central Banking Series: Japan

GIC is returning to Asia for the next program in our Central Banking Series, supported by Asset One Management Co. and featuring Patrick Harker, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. 

The dual-city program will begin on Friday, November 10 with a roundtable session in Kyoto, followed by a public conference in Tokyo on Monday, November 13.

Mr. Yoshinori Nakata is currently Director-General of the International Department of the Bank of Japan. Mr. Nakata joined the Bank in 1988 and has worked in various areas with a focus on international relations, financial markets research and prudential policy. He was most recently, Deputy’s Deputy for the Bank of Japan at G7 and G20 meetings, as Deputy-Director General of the International Department. He has also represented the Bank in various international committees and working groups of the BIS (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision , Committee on the Global Financial System) and G20 (Framework Working Group). Earlier in his career, he was seconded to the secretariat of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision at the BIS between 1998 and 2002 working on international bank capital regulation.
