College of Central Bankers Presentation: Monetary Policy
Join the GIC for this virtual event which will examine monetary policy, economic growth, inflation, and unemployment. The program will include welcoming remarks from Vicente Montes Gan, the Director of the Fundación Rafael del Pino, followed by an armchair discussion with Anna Paulson, the Executive Vice President, Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and Dennis P. Lockhart, GIC College of Central Bankers Fellow and the Former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, concluding with an audience Q&A. This event is held in partnership with Fundación Rafael del Pino.

Anna Paulson
Executive Vice President, Director of Research, Federal Reserve Bank of ChicagoAnna Paulson is executive vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She leads the Bank’s research and policy analysis work, overseeing the department that provides analytic support for monetary policymaking and conducts research on banking and financial markets, macroeconomics, microeconomics and regional economics. Paulson also has responsibility for the Bank’s Public Affairs and Community, Development and Policy Studies departments. She attends meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), the group responsible for formulating the nation’s monetary policy, and serves on the Bank’s Executive Committee.
Dennis P. Lockhart
Former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of AtlantaDennis Lockhart’s career includes time in the private sector, government, and academia. In 2017, he stepped down from the position of president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, a position he held for ten years. In this role, Lockhart served on the Federal Reserve’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). His tenure spanned the financial crisis, the Great Recession, and several years of recovery.

She is the former Chief Economist of Huawei Technologies, Chief Economist of the American International Group (AIG) and AIG Asset Management’s Senior Strategist and Global Head of Sovereign Research. Prior to joining AIG in 2010, Kathleen was Chief Economist at Aladdin Capital Holdings, Credit Suisse’s Head of Global Economic Research, and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette Securities Corporation’s co-head of Fixed Income economic research and Chief International Economist.
