Marvin A. Kaiser, PhD, joined Mary’s Woods in 2011 as its chief executive officer. Mary’s Wood is a full service retirement community.  He is dean emeritus of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (over 15,000 students) at Portland State University,  where he served from 1993 to 2011.  As dean he traveled regularly to the Middle East and developed many academic and personal friendships.  He returned from his latest trip in December.  Marvin, published extensively in the field of aging, has focused his scholarly efforts both on domestic and international aging issues and on community development.
