María Pía Olivero, PhD is an Associate Professor in the School of Economics of Drexel University. María’s research focuses on international finance and, in particular, on how imperfections in financial markets impact the international transmission of crises and the spillover effects of domestic policies on foreign countries. Her current research aims to understand the links between sovereign debt crises and banking crises through banks’ use of foreign sovereign bonds as collateral in their interbank borrowing.
