Diego A. Estevez was born in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is married and has two children. In 1970 he received his high school diploma (“Bachiller”) from the Villa Devoto School (founded in 1908) where he completed elementary and high school studies (University of Cambridge Exams). He graduated from the School of Economic Sciences of Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires with a bachelor’s degree in economics (1977).
