William Powers
Dr. William (Bill) Powers is Chief Economist and Director, Office of Economics at the U.S. International Trade Commission. He directs the economic analysis in the Commission’s fact-finding investigations for Congress and the U.S. President, such as the recent report on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations. He joined the Commission in 2005 after earning his PhD in economics from the University of Michigan. He has published on empirical trade topics including trade agreements, trade finance, and global value chains.
